Where is it?
West Ox Road & Monument Drive, Chantilly, VA.
What's going on?
$118,000 originally earmarked for preservation of the Battlefield and interpretive materials has finally been released.
Who's involved?
Ed Wenzel, BRCWRT member, pressed this issue until the Board of Supervisors allowed the release of funds.
Preservation Status: Funds secured. Stay tuned.

RECENT LETTERS

From Edward E. Long Jr., CFO to Katherine K. Hanley.
Subject: Interest on Proffers for Ox Hill Battlefield Park
"...As you know, the amount of funding currently available for the project is $168,360.00...As clarified in a previous memo, bond funds are not sold until needed; therefore, the $50,000 identified in Fund 370 has earned no interest to date..."

"This letter is to inform you and all members of the Board of Supervisors that planning and design work by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) for Ox Hill Battlefield Park has been continuously delayed since January 2001."

FILMING AT OX HILL

Historian and BRCWRT Member, Chuck Mauro, is currently filming a documentary on Ox Hill. Work began in early September, at the anniversary of the battle (Sept. 1, 1862).
