TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

The BRCWRT will conduct its postponed fall field trip on 16 June 2012. Our principal destinations will be the Balls Bluff Battlefield and Fort Evans. Our tour guide will be Jim Morgan.

Please join us in this unique opportunity to tour the Balls Bluff Battlefield with the benefit of a noted authority on the Civil War in Loudoun County and to visit one of the best preserved field fortifications in the State of Virginia. Carefully maintained by a corporate owner, the fort is ordinarily inacessible to Civil War buffs but will be made accessible to BRCWRT members for the purpose of this tour.

After investigating Fort Evans, we will devote the remainder of the morning to exploring the Balls Bluff Battlefield with our guide. Following lunch, and time permitting, we will explore additional Civil War sites in the area that will either include the "Masked Battery" field fortifications or those overlooking Route 7 and Goose Creek. We will plan to finish the tour no later than 1500.
